Lloyd Harbor Historic Home
Steeped in charm and original character, this historic home called for a design that honored its traditional architecture while introducing a modern sensibility. For the family’s gracious living room, we wrapped the walls in a faux wood wallpaper installed horizontally for an unexpected twist. The expansive room is arranged into two seating areas: One intimate for quiet conversation, the other oriented toward the glow of a roaring fire. A palette of warm neutrals grounds the room, while layers such as throw pillows offer color and pattern. In the dining room, wool upholstered walls envelop guests while a lighter grasscloth ceiling opens the space and adds dimension. At the center gleams a dramatic bubble chandelier—one the client had long-admired. The interiors of this historic home bring a striking contemporary contrast, capturing the presence and personality of its owners.
