Laurel Hollow

For a young family used to New York City living, their first house proved to be a welcome respite from the tight confines of an apartment. The design priority became creating individual, charming retreats for their son and daughter who shared a bedroom before the move. A carefully selected pale pink paint swaths the girl’s space while classic white linen Roman shades and a complementary rosy-hued tape trim emphasize the hue. In their son’s room, shades of blue—cornflower, navy, and powder—establish a soothing palette. Framed artwork, gathered lampshades, and patterned bedding reveal a whimsical feel in both rooms; each youthful yet sophisticated enough to stand the test of time.
